Royals go glamping in Uluru

Britain’s Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are going ‘glamping’.

The high-profile couple are set to make their stay in Australia’s iconic natural landmark Uluru completely unforgettable with an overnight stay at Longitude 131, a lavish resort comprising 15 exclusive tent-style pavilions.

The royals will have the place to themselves, according to Britain’s HELLO! magazine, since all of the luxury huts nestled in the dunes surrounding the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park have been booked out for the evening.

And the experience will be all the more romantic since Prince William and Duchess Catherine are said to have handed baby George over to his nanny for a much-needed "night off" from parenting duties.

Longitude 131 in Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, offers a camping experience like no other for the eye-watering price of $1,100 per person per night.

Tents feature wall-length windows boasting breathtaking views, high ceilings formed of draped canvas material, and home comforts including private bathrooms and double beds.

The couple will finally be able to take a break from their non-stop royal tour Down Under by sipping cocktails around the oasis swimming pool as the sun sets.

William, 31, and Catherine, 32, are then expected to tuck into a gourmet meal under the stars as a didgeridoo serenades them.

The prince’s parents, Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, were the last royal couple to visit Uluru in 1983.
