Queen Elizabeth could lose royal consent

Britain's Queen Elizabeth could lose her right to consent to new laws.
MPs are discussing whether to abolish royal consent from the 87-year-old monarch and Prince Charles when ushering in new laws, and have declared the process of seeking consent from the queen and first in line to the throne "arcane and complex".
The Commons' Political and Constitutional Reform committee fears royal consent could fuel speculation the royal family has "undue influence" on policy making, however, they say the process is more a "matter of courtesy" and there is no evidence the royals have influenced law change.
A new report states: "The United Kingdom is a constitutional monarchy. The queen has the right to be consulted, to advise and to warn. But beyond that she should have no role in the legislative process.
"Its existence could be regarded as a matter of courtesy between the three parts of Parliament. Whether this is a compelling justification for its continuance is a matter of opinion."
Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles are currently given approval of any laws that may affect royal matters or the interests of the Crown or Duchy of Cornwall.

Prince Harry and Cressida go skiing in Kazakhstan

Britain's Prince Harry has taken Cressia Bonas skiing in Kazakhstan. The 29-year-old royal has shunned the exclusive Swiss Alps - which is a popular skiing destination for the royal family - for a getaway in the former Soviet state in central Asia. H...

Cressida Bonas’ brother worries about her safety

Cressida Bonas' brother is worried about her safety.
Jacobi Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe, whose sister is dating Prince Harry, has revealed he is concerned about public intrusion into the 25-year-old beauty's life as a result of her growing relationship with the royal.
He told The Times newspaper: "They're my private family, she's a private person. As the media machine builds around my sister, I'd rather the media machine didn't build around my sister.
"I don't see it ever really affecting my life. My only worry is making sure she is safe and she is OK and she is happy. I don't really think about it all except in the sense of her own safety."
Harry, 29, and Cressida are currently enjoying a skiing trip in Kazakhstan and she is set to join him in co-hosting a royal dinner at St James's Palace later this week.
The couple have been seen out-and-about together numerous times of late, leading to speculation that another royal wedding could soon be on the cards.
Cressida accompanied Harry to the We Day charity event in London earlier this month and they were also spotted canoodling at a rugby match at Twickenham Stadium last moth.

Prince George’s nanny could have been nun

Prince George's new nanny could have been a nun.
Friends of Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, the Spanish nanny recently hired to look after the third-in-line to the throne, tipped her to become a nun when she was younger because of her lack of interest in boys and her puritan lifestyle.
One pal told the Daily Express newspaper: "We all thought she would end up becoming a nun because she was such a different girl to the rest.
"She hardly had any friends and she didn't show any interest in boys."
Family hairdresser Antonio Robledo told Spain's El Mundo: "She is very special and shy and I've never known her to have had a boyfriend. Above all she's a good person."
Maria Teresa's brother Luis chose a life in service to god three years ago when he was ordained as a deacon, but his sister followed her passion for childcare.
Luis has since moved into working for a hospital, aiding mentally ill patients.
The royal nanny's mother Maria Teresa - who still lives in her hometown of Palencia, Spain - recently gushed over her daughter's new job.
She said: "I am very proud of my daughter, that's all I can say. On the personal front, and professionally, my daughter couldn't be better."

Tinie Tempah wants Prince George as fan

Tinie Tempah wants to turn Prince George into a fan of his music.
The 'Pass Out' rapper recently high-fived the eight-month-old tot's father Prince William at the BAFTA Awards and he admits he'd love to see William, his brother Prince Harry and George at one of his gigs.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "I'm hoping all the princes come, even baby George at the side of the stage. That would be amazing."
Tinie, 25, and singer Laura Mvula opened the prestigious BAFTA film awards last month and the enthusiastic star serenaded Prince William, 31, and even gave the royal a high five.
The rapper declared it a "great" moment, previously gushing: "It was great, I just saw him there and thought, 'Do you know what? why not?', and it felt great.
"We've met a couple of times now, so I felt safe. I felt like something bad isn't going to happen. And it was all right and I was happy.
"I've seen my Twitter, it's going crazy at the minute but it was fun. Seriously, like, it was such a memorable performance."

Prince William for Foreign Office job

Britain's Prince William could be set to work for the Foreign Office.
Royal aides have revealed the Duke of Cambridge, who quit his job as a Search and Rescue helicopter pilot last year, wants to prepare for his future role of King by getting a grounding in diplomacy.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "He will come to the end of his 'transitional year' in the autumn and has made it clear he wishes to begin full-time work again.
"A post at the heart of the Foreign Office would give an insight into the role of an ambassador and an understanding of relations between countries around the world."
Although the 31-year-old royal has reportedly ruled out being an ambassador himself as he doesn't want to be away from his wife, Duchess Catherine, and their eight-month-old son George.
The Prince, who is also about to complete a 10-week agricultural course at Cambridge University as he prepares himself for taking over the Duchy of Cornwall estate, could take the job after his official royal visit to Australia and New Zealand next month with Catherine and George.

Queen Elizabeth’s clockmaker suffers injury

Queen Elizabeth's royal clockmaker has developed Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) due to his job.
Steve Davidson, who is tasked with maintaining all of the 450 timepieces at Windsor Castle, was diagnosed with the medical condition two months ago and has been informed by doctors to cut down his work hours.
Steve's right hand began feeling the strain of winding, cleaning and repairing all of the clocks, but the expert has refused to take sick leave and has instead developed various tools which will allow him to do his job using his left hand.
A Windsor Castle source told the Daily Express newspaper: "Steve is absolutely devoted to his job and refused to take time off even though he was in a lot of pain.
"A doctor signed off Steve and told him to rest his hand but he would not hear of it. For three weeks, he went round doing his job by telling a porter what to do and supervised his every move.
"In his spare time, he went into the Castle workshop and fashioned some new tools which enable him to do the job left-handed if his right hand needs a rest."
Steve is now said to be recuperating and is still working.
The source added: "Thankfully, Steve is on the mend and things are, you might say, ticking over nicely!"

Prince Harry joins public gym

Britain's Prince Harry has joined a public gym.
The 29-year-old royal has sent fitness enthusiasts into a frenzy as they try to catch a glimpse of him working out at branches of Third Space gyms in Kensington and Soho in London.
Harry is reportedly training with former Royal Marine commando, James Gilbertson, who has since become a fitness expert and personal trainer.
The flame-haired royal's presence at the upmarket gyms - which cost £139 a month to use - has caused fever among other gym users and security have been forced to step in and remove people trying to take unflattering pictures of Harry.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Prince Harry could train anywhere in the world, so it's a bit of a shock he's using a public gym that anyone can join.
"He's been having one-on-one personal training session with James, who is one of the gym's most popular instructors. The pair of them have been working out for a while now."
It's thought Harry caught the fitness bug after trekking to the South Pole last December.
Other stars who use the gyms include soccer star John Terry and film director Guy Ritchie.

Sam Bailey ‘cringed’ meeting Prince Charles

Sam Bailey was left "cringing" after embarrassing herself in front of Prince Charles.
'The X Factor' winner recently met the 65-year-old royal at the star-studded Prince's Trust Awards earlier this month, but she admits the moment wasn't as auspicious as it seems because of her less than regal behaviour.
Sam explained to BANG Showbiz: "Phillip Schofield was stood next to me and Prince Charles was walking down, and I went, 'Phillip, Phillip! What do I say to him? What do I call him? You've done this before ... you must punch him on the arm and call him Chaz!'
"He said, 'You have to curtsy and say, "Hello, Your Royal Highness", and after that you say "sir".'
"I'm like practicing, 'Your Royal Highness...' and Phillip Schofield's laughing. Then I curtsied, but because I'm a tomboy, I had a bit of a giggle at myself - I'm such a plumb!"
But the 36-year-old star's dilemma didn't end there as Sam admits she made a bit of a faux-pas while talking to the prince.
She added: "He was talking to me and shook my hand and he's having a bit of a chat with me. He said, 'Well, good luck with the album', and I said, 'Cheers, sir!'
"Phillip Schofield went, 'Oh no, you were doing so well!'
"It was so cringe. I was cringing quite bad because I was like, 'Cheers, sir!' "
Sam's debut album 'The Power of Love' is out now.
