Prince Harry’s South Pole trek pals for London Marathon

Prince Harry's South Pole trek companions will compete in the London Marathon.
The injured servicemen and women who joined the 29-year-old royal in the charity walk on behalf of Walking with the Wounded have signed up to take part in the annual marathon next month.
All four of Harry's teammates are taking part, including Major Kate Philp, who lost her left leg in a bomb explosion in Afghanistan; Sergeant Duncan Slater, who lost both of his legs in a car explosion; Captain Guy Disney, who lost his right leg in a rocket attack; and Captain Ibrar Ali, who lost his right arm in a roadside attack.
Nine members of the international teams that competed in the South Pole trek last December will join them.
Captain Ali told the London Evening Standard newspaper: "The long runs are often very similar to when I was pulling my pulk during the expedition. It's a solitude that is quite nice because I find it's very simple to just switch off. I'll be hoping to make it around the 26.2 mile course alongside my 14 comrades."

Prince Laurent out of medical coma

Belgium's Prince Laurent has been taken out of a medically-induced coma.
The 50-year-old royal was rushed to hospital last week after coming down with pneumonia and volunteered himself for an artificial coma two days ago.
However, he has now come out of the coma as his condition has improved.
Royal spokesperson said Prince Laurent - younger brother of King Philippe - is a in a "stable" condition.
Laurent is doing significantly better since being admitted to Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc hospital in Brussels and doctors are now encouraging him to eat.
Doctors placed him in an artificial coma in order to improve his condition by giving him antibiotics.
Belgian TV channel RTL said: "An artificial coma would avoid the patient exhausting themselves by fighting against the life-support system."
Laurent's wife Princess Claire - who was born in Bath, England - has been by his side throughout the ordeal.
The couple have a 10-year-old daughter, Princess Louise, and nine-year-old twin sons, Prince Nicolas and Prince Aymeric.
King Philippe visited his brother on Monday (24.03.14) and Queen Mathilde visited on Tuesday (25.03.14).

Prince Edward visits Roman sex exhibition

Britain's Prince Edward visited an exhibition of ancient Roman sexual artefacts yesterday (27.03.14).
Queen Elizabeth's youngest son was given a tour of Brading Roman Villa on the Isle of Wight, where he was shown a new exhibition, Roman Sexuality: Images, Myths and Meanings, which features pieces on loan from the British Museum.
The sexually laden showcase included the famous Warren Cup, which was recently featured on a BBC documentary, 'History of the World in 100 Objects'.
The ancient cup, which is thought to be from the first century AD, is engraved with graphic depictions of male same-sex acts.
The exhibition's curator Mike Bishop showed the 50-year-old royal around the museum and it seems Edward was very curious about the sexually themed artefacts.
Mike told the Isle of Wight County Press: "He spent a good bit of time looking around. He was very interested indeed."
Edward is a patron of the Brading Roman Villa and visited the museum on a trip to the Isle of Wight with his wife, Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

Prince Charles warns against London house prices

Britain's Prince Charles has warned that rising house prices in London will drive away young people looking to work in the capital.
The 65-year-old royal spoke at the Housing London Symposium yesterday (26.03.14) on behalf of his charity, the Prince's Foundation for Building Community, which has released a new report advising that utilising old mansion buildings or building new mid-rise properties could help alleviate London's housing problem.
He said: "The National Housing Federation estimates that in only six years' time the average London house price will have risen 40 per cent to £650,000.
"This isn't sustainable and risks driving away talented young individuals who are starting their careers in London and spending most of their income on rent.
"Home ownership for this generation is seemingly becoming further and further out of reach."
The prince suggested high-rise buildings cause social dysfunction and alienation and expressed his desire to see more mid-rise buildings being built in London.
He added: "Mid-rise buildings of between five and eight storeys make ecological sense, too, as they are more adaptable than high-rise, easier to build out of natural materials, are easier to repair and still work for people when the lift is broken or there is a power cut."

Prince Harry lookalike in dating show

A new reality show will trick contestants into thinking they are vying for Prince Harry's affections.
US channel FOX is producing a new reality show that will feature 12 American women competing to marry a lookalike of the red-haired royal, according to Deadline.com.
The series, titled 'I Wanna Marry "Harry"', is being produced by Ryan Seacrest - who presents 'American Idol' and also produces 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' - and will be filmed at the palatial Englefield House in Berkshire, England.
The competition will see 12 American singletons whisked to England where they will compete to win the affections of 'Prince Harry' - however, the suitor is in fact a Harry lookalike named Matthew Hicks.
Matthew must dress and behave like a royal in order to avoid detection from the 12 women and successfully convince them he is Harry, 29.
The series is being eyed to air in America in the summer.
The real Prince Harry has recently sparked speculation he is to marry his girlfriend Cressida Bonas, 25, having been seen out-and-about in public with the blonde beauty.

Kim Kardashian meets Duchess Catherine’s wedding dress maker

Duchess Catherine's wedding dress designer has met with Kim Kardashian.
The 33-year-old reality TV star is expected to wed her rapper beau Kanye West in May and jetted to London for an exclusive, top-secret meeting with Sarah Burton for her recent bridal-themed Vogue magazine cover.
Discussing the secrecy surrounding her Vogue photoshoot, Kim said: "I mean, I even had to fly to London to go meet with Sarah Burton from [Alexander] McQueen and that was a top secret mission in itself because I landed and all the paparazzi were there. I had to figure out how to get into this office without anyone seeing me."
Kim wore a stunning bespoke customised dress for the Vogue spread, sparking speculation she may follow in Catherine's footsteps by having Sarah design her wedding gown.
The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star has previously praised the royal's style, saying: "Kate seems like a really sweet person and she's a princess. We love her sense of fashion. She could wear our looks and team it with one of her hats."
Sarah has dubbed designing Catherine's elegant wedding gown the "highlight" of her career.
She said previously: "She looked so beautiful. She's got such an amazing sense of grace and style, it was quite easy to make her look good. For me, it was a huge highlight of my career. It came completely out of the blue, it was all very exciting and I felt very privileged."

William and Catherine miss Prince George’s first crawl?

Britain's Prince William and Duchess Catherine reportedly missed Prince George's first crawl.
The royal couple, who recently enjoyed a romantic getaway to the Maldives, are thought to have missed out on a major milestone moment in their eight-month-old tot's formative years as he crawled for the first time while they were away.
Prince George was being looked after by his grandparents Michael and Carole Middleton at Catherine's family home in Bucklebury, Berkshire, while his parents got some much-needed rest at the five-star Cheval Blanc Randheli resort earlier this month.
A source told Us Weekly magazine: "William and Kate are excited about the many milestones ahead. George already has a tiny tooth coming in. And his cheeks are chubbier than ever!"
The couple decided to enjoy some romantic time together in the Maldives ahead of a long three-week royal visit to Australia and New Zealand next month.
The royals will be joined by their son, who'll be looked after by his new Spanish nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo.
The 43-year-old childminder was recently employed by William, 31, and Catherine, 32, having trained at London's Norland College.

Duchess of Cornwall visit hometown of Sussex

Britain's Duchess of Cornwall went back to her hometown of Sussex to open a £11.5 million hospice today (26.03.14).
The 66-year-old royal paid a visit to St Wilfrid's Hospice in Eastbourne, East Sussex, after tasting rose at a new Wine Research Centre at Plumpton College earlier in the day.
She praised the hospice and described her visit as "uplifting" after being given a tour of its 20-bed unit and chatting to patients and staff.
After unveiling an official plaque, she said: "As a native of Sussex, it's always a real treat to come back here again, and especially to see this wonderful hospice.
"I would just like to congratulate everyone who was involved. It's the most wonderful place, with a wonderful, uplifting feeling, which is what all hospices should have."
The duchess met 55 year old Ray Boylan, who is suffering from prostate cancer and recently re-married ex-wife Lyn, 53, after they divorced and years later got back together.
Camilla said to them: "That's very nice. I feel as if I should have come with flowers or something."
Meanwhile, the royal's husband, Prince Charles, was visiting Ham Close in Richmond to find out how Richmond Council is working with the Prince's Foundation.
The 65-year-old royal spoke to residents on the estate and ventured into some of their homes.
