Cressida Bonas didn’t like attention

Cressida Bonas split from Britain's Prince Harry because she didn't enjoy the constant scrutiny.
The couple ended their romance this week after two years of dating, and friends say the 25-year-old heiress wanted out of the "serious" relationship because she was tired of strangers taking her picture, and knew the attention would only get worse if she went on to marry the prince.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Cressie doesn't want to be famous in any way. Her relationship with Harry was incredibly serious but she became sick of strangers taking pictures of her.
"She started to think about how her life would be if she was a princess -- and she jumped ship."
The source believes the couple will eventually get back together once Cressida has taken time away to consider their future.
They added: "However, Harry and Cressie still love each other. Only a brave man would bet on them not getting back together.
"Cressie is only 25 and has found the last two years overwhelming. She needs some time out of the spotlight to really think about what she wants. Harry has given her that time because he loves her.
"Cressie has been terrified by the thought of being a princess because it is just another world to her. She was like a deer in headlights.
"She loves Harry but she just wants some breathing space."

Mark Shand to be buried today

Mark Shand's funeral will take place today (01.05.14).
The body of the 62-year-old conservationist - the brother of Britain's Duchess Camilla - will be laid to rest in a private family service at Holy Trinity Church in Stourpaine, Dorset, South West England following his shock death in New York last week.
Camilla will be joined by her husband Prince Charles at the service, which is taking place in the same church where her father Major Bruce Shand's funeral took place in 2006.
The duchess and her siblings often spent time together in the village, where her sister Annabel Elliot lives, and Mark previously said the country retreat had become the "centre" of the family.
The adventurer's body was escorted home by a private jet by Camilla's son Tom Parker Bowles and nephew Ben Elliot.
His death - from hitting his head after falling on a pavement outside a bar - has been ruled an accident by a medical examiner in the US.
Mark was known for his dedication to protecting the Asian elephant, and since his passing, conservation charity Elephant Family - which has received many offers of support since Mark's death - have launched the Mark Shand Memorial Fund, which will raise money for the cause.

Princess Charlene named Champion of Children

Monaco's Princess Charlene has been honoured with a Champion of Children award.
The former Olympic swimmer was presented with the accolade by 'Legally Blonde' actress Reese Witherspoon at the Colleagues' 26th Annual Spring Luncheon at Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills yesterday (29.04.14).
Charlene was given the award in recognition of her charity work
in Europe and her native South Africa.
The 36-year-old princess dazzled in an emerald gown, which was perfectly complemented by Reese's blue and green tulip dress, at the event, with both women opting for nude heels.
Charlene accessorised with just a pair of simple pearl earrings and minimalist make-up.
The Oscar de la Renta-sponsored charity event was hosted by Angie Harmon, who also posed for pictures with Reese - a patron of the organisation - and Charlene on the red carpet.
The princess recently praised her husband - who she wed in 2011 - for being her "biggest support".
She said: "My husband is my biggest support, the person that I confide in and who knows me best.
"We must fight for what we believe in, forgive, move forward and not give up."

Prince William and Duchess Catherine have low-key celebration

Britain's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge enjoyed a low-key wedding anniversary yesterday (29.04.14).
The couple - who have nine-month-old son Prince George together - celebrated three years of marriage but had no plans to mark the milestone in a big way as they are still recovering from their 19-day tour of Australia and New Zealand, from which they returned at the weekend.
Instead, a royal spokesperson said they would celebrate "privately" and it is believed they spent the day with Duchess Catherine's parents.
Although couples traditionally exchange leather gifts on their third anniversary, it was recently revealed Prince William gave his wife - who was known as Kate Middleton before her marriage - a luxury watch as an early gift to mark the milestone.
The duchess wore the Cartier item - which is worth £3,600, made of stainless steel and embedded with a sapphire - every day on their Australasia tour.
Last year, the couple spent their wedding anniversary apart, with Catherine - who was then six months pregnant - visiting a children's hospice and William away on duty in north Wales as an RAF search and rescue pilot.
They spent their first anniversary at a friend's wedding, before spending the night at a £164-a-night pub.

Prince Harry too skinny for cycling

Britain's Prince Harry joked his butt was too small for cycling yesterday (29.04.14).
The 29-year-old royal paid a visit to wounded troops at Tedworth House recovery centre in Tidworth, Wiltshire where he met with applicants wishing to represent the British Armed Forces team in the Invictus Games - a Paralympic-style international competition for injured military veterans - and watched them in training for three of the eight events.
After having a brief try at a static handbike, he declined a challenge to try out a recumbent bike used by amputee servicemen.
Patting his backside, he laughed and said: "I haven't got the padding for it."
Harry, who watched training sessions for wheelchair rugby and rowing, as well as the cycling, later gave a speech wishing the hopefuls luck.
He said: "I have seen how powerful sport is as a means of rebuilding confidence as well as aiding with physical rehabilitation.
"These men and women are fighters by nature. The intense physical training and competitive spirit that will be forged inside this team as they prepared to represent their country in the Invictus Games will, I hope go some way to helping the recovery not only of those who hope to be selected here today, but also inspire others along the way."
Among the people who Harry met at the event was Royal Marine Don Maclean, 36, who lost his right foot and ankle when he stepped on a roadside bomb in Afghanistan three years ago, and is hoping to compete in both wheelchair basketball and cycling.
He said: "Cycling has become a massive part of my rehabilitation.
"I wouldn't be at the stage I'm at now without it."
The prince - who recently split from girlfriend Cressida Bonas - also watched Jonathon 'Frenchie' Le Galloudec win a rowing machine race, but after the former soldier asked him to try his hand, he declined.
So far, 182 people have applied to be part of the 100-strong British team, and more are expected to before the final contestants are selected in July and August.
They will compete against 12 other nations at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park from September 10 to 14.

Prince Harry split is ‘amicable’

Britain's Prince Harry's split from Cressida Bonas is "amicable".
The 29-year-old royal and the 25-year-old socialite have reportedly separated after two years of dating, and despite claims the prince called time on the romance because he found Cressida too "needy", insiders insist the decision was mutual.
A source told MailOnline: "Unfortunately it is true, they have split up. But this suggestion that the prince supposedly 'dumped' Cressida because she was 'too needy' is so wide of the mark.
"It is a very amicable split and they are still very much the best of friends. They have just decided to go their separate ways."
Several friends believe the pair - who recently sparked speculation they were set to get engaged after making their first public appearances together - will eventually get back together once Cressida, who recently graduated from dance school and is currently working for a marketing company, decides what she wants to do next.
Another source said: "Cressie is only 25 and pretty young for her age at that. Prince Harry will be 30 this year and is at a different stage in his life. He is incredibly fond of Cressie and understands that she wants to do something with her life and with her career before she considers settling down.
"It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they got back together in a few months time."

Prince Harry splits from Cressida Bonas?

Britain's Prince Harry has reportedly split from Cressida Bonas.
The 29-year-old royal has called time on his relationship with the 24-year-old socialite after almost two years of dating because he found her too "needy".
A source close to the prince told PEOPLE.com: "He found her too needy and it just wasn't working out."
The pair began romancing after being introduced through the flame-haired hunk's cousin Princess Eugenie - the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson - in 2012.
Things seemed to be going well for the duo as Cressida attended her first official royal event last month at the launch of WE day at the Wembley Arena in London.
The couple, who were keen to keep their relationship out of the public eye, also recently sparked speculation of a possible marriage proposal in the not so distant future.
However, the blonde beauty had reportedly told her friends she wasn't keen on getting engaged just yet as she is enjoying her new job in theatre marketing.
A source said previously: "Cressida is very busy and has lots to do. Marriage is not something she's considering yet.
"She has just started a new job where she's being paid the usual salary for someone of her age - i.e. peanuts - and she has found a flat to rent with her friend Daisy.
"She is doing all the things that people in their 20s should be doing. Who knows what might have changed by this time next year but that is how she wants it to be."
