Britain’s Duchess of Cornwall visits Holocaust survivors

Britain's Duchess of Cornwall was left visibly moved as she heard stories from survivors of the Holocaust.
The 68-year-old royal visited the Jewish Care's Holocaust Survivors Centre in north west London, where she met with a number of people who were imprisoned by the Nazis between 1933 and 1945.
In a speech, she said: "[These stories need to be passed] to my generation and to the next generation. I just hope these stories will continue so people know just how incredible you've all been. I'm also very proud this country has looked after you so well."
Meanwhile, at the event, Duchess Camilla met with Henrietta Kelly, who she remembered after sitting next to her at a dinner to mark 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz last year.
She told Jewish News: "She remembered me and another lady on my table - and even recalled what I'd told her that my parents didn't recognise each other when they met on the street in Paris after the War.
"She really is so interested and chatty and made sure everybody had a chance to speak. I could never have imagined in a million years that I would meet a member of the Royal Family."

Britain’s Prince Harry celebrates Invictus Games’ ‘role models’

Britain's Prince Harry has praised the "role models" taking part in the Invictus Games.
In a new video released by the organisation to explain why the Games are so important, the 31-year-old royal celebrated the successes of those who took part in the Paralympic-style event for wounded soldiers in 2014.
He said: "There's a huge percentage of guys and girls that came through in the last Invictus who are no longer here, because they've used it as part of their rehab, and now are back in employment or wherever it may be.
"300 new faces completely unknown to anybody have now come up and stuck their heads above the parapet and that's fantastic ... Every single one of these guys know, through the Invictus spirit, they are naturally becoming role models."
And some of the 2016 hopefuls, who will take part in the games in Florida in May if successful, spoke of the importance of the event for their own rehabilitation.
One hopeful said: "Being part of that team, that's part of the recovery process. Having that banter and supporting each other. We're all trialling out for the same sport here. I've got all my mates around me, screaming, 'Come on, last 30 seconds.' And I mean it when I'm cheering them on."
Whilst another added: "I would love to be able to go [to Florida], wear my Army badge for those guys who can't make it."

Britain’s Duchess of Cornwall returns to old school

Britain's Duchess of Cornwall returned to her old school yesterday (23.02.16).
The 68-year-old royal - who is married to the Prince of Wales - attended an assembly at her former school, Queen's Gate School in South Kensington, London, to mark its 125th anniversary.
Speaking to pupils at the school, she said: "I cannot believe that Queen's Gate has been going for 125 years; I feel like it's 125 years since I was here. I wish I could say I was a head girl, or even a prefect or captain of games - I was none of those, I might have been in the swimming team.
"But I do remember I was a boarder here, which I hear now is abolished. I was a weekly boarder and lived right at the top of the school, quite cold, I think we were always made to have the windows open - fresh air."
And Duchess Camilla also spoke to students about the "university of life," revealing her and her friends went travelling instead of university.
She added: "I did leave when I was 16, I didn't go on to the sixth form. I think in those days we weren't encouraged to go to university. I think the very, very clever girls went on but nobody seemed to give us much inspiration to go on.
"So we went off and explored the university of life, and Paris and Florence and London."

Margot Robbie’s royal faux pas

Margot Robbie had no idea who Britain's Prince Harry was when she partied him.
The 'Suicide Squad' star attended Suki Waterhouse's party and was snapped in a photobooth with the 31-year-old royal, Cara Delevingne, Sienna Miller and the host but admits she still had no clue who he was until they had a half an hour conversation.
She told Entertainment Tonight: "I didn't know it was him for about half an hour talking to him. Suki was having a housewarming party. I was like, 'I'll pop in for 10 minutes.' About six hours later the photo booth happened."
Meanwhile, an insider previously claimed Prince Harry and Suki looked "particularly close" at the party
The source said at the time: "It was Suki's party and they gave each other a big hug when they saw each other. Harry seemed completely interested in what she had to say. She was very bubbly and loud while he seemed to be enjoying her zaniness and free-spirited nature.
"Everyone was talking about how Suki and Harry seemed particularly close, some even said there was the start of a romance brewing. Suki fits the bill as to what he seems to like in a girl - bubbly, blonde and posh."

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth inspires underground line

A London underground line has been named after Britain's Queen Elizabeth.
The 89-year-old royal has lent her name to the Crossrail line, which links Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Essex to London, and is due to open in December 2018.
And the Queen was also invited to visit the construction site at Bond Street where she met with London Mayor Boris Johnson and presented workers with a plaque to mark the occasion.
Mr Johnson said: "Crossrail is already proving a huge success for the UK economy and, as we move closer to bringing this transformative new railway into service, I think it's truly wonderful that such a significant line for our capital will carry such a significant name from our country.
"As well as radically improving travel right across our city, the Elizabeth line will provide a lasting tribute to our longest-serving monarch."
Whilst London's Transport Commissioner Mike Brown added to the Mail Online: "In running this important new railway we will ensure that it serves as a fitting tribute to Her Majesty the Queen."
The Queen attended the event yesterday (23.02.16) in a lilac coat, accessorising with a matching purple hat.

Britain’s Prince William’s personal connection

Britain's Prince William likes to "connect directly" with the public.
The 33-year-old royal loves his job with the East Anglian Air Ambulance service because he finds it "very rewarding" that he is helping provide a "valuable, and often life-saving, public service".
A spokesperson for Kensington Palace told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "The Duke is incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to carry out his skilled work with the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
"It is a great opportunity to connect directly with the community and he considers it very rewarding to be part of a team that provides such a valuable, and often life-saving, public service."
Meanwhile, it was previously revealed the Prince does 20 hours a week with the charity, with an aide quickly coming to his defence for the part-time hours as he has his royal duties to complete too.
A source said: "It's a demanding role involving both day and night shifts. But the Duke relishes the challenge of being a modern working father and husband, combining his royal and charitable duties with this work as an air ambulance pilot."

Britain’s Princess Anne visits Surrey entrepreneurs

Britain's Princess Anne visited business leaders on a trip to Surrey.
The 65-year-old royal met with an 18-year-old entrepreneur during her visit, who had been working in a nearby market since he was ten-years-old and now has his own shop at Redhill's Belfry Shopping Centre.
Danesh Amin said: "I am thrilled that HRH The Princess Royal visited the Brocks Chocs production site.
"This visit in 2016 comes during my biggest growth year - both professionally and personally, as I embark upon opening new stores, creating further employment locally and furthering my education at university. I am very excited about what the future holds for Brocks Chocs."
She also visited Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking as well as Dennys Brands in Leatherhead.
Nick Jubert, managing director of Dennys Brands, added to the Dorking and Leatherhead Advertiser: "We were delighted and honoured to welcome HRH The Princess Royal to Leatherhead, both to mark our employees' commitment to the business, and to celebrate our continued success as we prepare for the opening of our flagship store in London's West End."
Whilst visiting the uniform supplier, she handed long-service awards to six employees who had been working at the firm for more than 20 years.

Britain’s Prince Charles visits Dragoon Guards

Britain's Prince Charles has praised the "resilience" of the Queen's Dragoon Guards.
The 67-year-old royal was touring the military base in Norfolk, east England where he spoke with serving members of the cavalry regiment.
He said: "I've been hearing a bit about your transitioning, one role to another, to your light cavalry role, and I had a chance just now in the hangar to see some of the kit.
"I'm very glad to hear that, as far as I can make out, you've worked out what kind of kit to wear in the Jackal in midwinter.
"But knowing all of you and your extraordinary ability to adapt and your resilience, I'm sure you'll make your new role one of immense success, and also be able to maintain a degree of flexibility which you always somehow manage to achieve."
During his visit, the Prince of Wales - who is the colonel-in-chief of the regiment - was shown the new base and chatted to serving members and their families to see how they were coping following the move to Swanton Morley.
Retired Lieutenant General Sir Simon Mayall, who was the former commanding officer of the Dragoons, handed the Prince a medal, telling him: "'You've been our Colonel-in-Chief for 13 years, a lucky number for us, if I may say so.
"[During that time, we've had] seven commanding officers, eight regimental sergeant majors, six operational tours and one attempt to amalgamate us."

Britain’s Princess Anne meets volunteers

Britain's Princess Anne met with volunteers at a Citzens Advice Bureau yesterday (22.02.16).
The 65-year-old royal - who is the patron of the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureau - was on hand to tour the Milton Keynes centre, where she handed over a £10,000 donation from Santander bank.
Ben Thomas, director of Milton Keynes' Citizens Advice Bureau, said: "Services are needed and they matter, not just to the ordinary man and woman in the street, but to some of the most vulnerable people who live in our city.
"[The donation] will help us reach those disadvantaged and vulnerable people who so badly need our help."
Meanwhile, during her visit, the Princess Royal was given a gift by schoolgirl Grace Mutchell, seven, who had to keep it a secret that she was meeting the royal.
She said: "I was excited since I knew and it was hard to keep the secret."
Whilst her mother Rachel, who volunteered her daughter to take part, added to One MK: "I was worried Grace would get would get a bit scared with so many people here but I'm really proud of her."
