Rose McGowan pulls out of public appearance

Rose McGowan has pulled out of her upcoming public appearances after accusing Harvey Weinstein of rape.
The 44-year-old actress – who has spoken out about her alleged ordeal at the hands of the disgraced movie mogul – will no longer be attending the Tallgrass Film Festival, where she was said to be honoured with an Ad Astra Award for her directorial debut, ‘Dawn’, and organisers of the Kansas event attributed "compounding factors" surrounding the recent damning New York Times expose on the producer for her cancellation.
They said in a statement: "We are sorry to announce that we’ve just been informed that Rose McGowan has canceled all upcoming public appearances due to compounding factors surrounding recent revelations in the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment case.
"While we’re disappointed that Rose cannot be here with us in person, we understand that her well being is the priority. We support her and our thoughts are with her.
"We’ll seize this opportunity to amplify her message and celebrate all the women filmmakers with works here at the 15th annual festival."
Instead of an appearance from the ‘Charmed’ star, the festival will host a panel of women in film, ‘#WokeWomen: A Candid Conversation with Tallgrass’ Female Filmmakers’, in her honour.
The statement continued: " The whole world is now aware, in large part due to Rose’s efforts, about the rampant sexual harassment within the entertainment industry, and so in her honour, we have pulled together a panel of women filmmakers who will be attending the festival with their films, for a frank conversation, because the message doesn’t stop here."
A spokesperson for the 65-year-old producer previously stated that "any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by" him.
