Rory Douglas-Speed says tiredness is ‘all worth it’ in fatherhood

Rory Douglas-Speed has never been so tired after becoming a dad – but says it is "all worth it".
The ‘Hollyoaks’ actor is a "proud dad" after he and his co-star and fiancee Nadine Mulkerrin (Cleo McQueen) welcomed son Reggie into the world last Tuesday (15.10.19), but he hasn’t had much sleep since the little one’s arrival.
He shared a selfie with Reggie, and wrote: "Never had such big bags under my eyes, but it’s all worth it! #prouddadspam (sic)"
Nadine wrote: "Oh Jesus I actually can’t cope"
The 26-year-old actress recently questioned whether it was "normal behaviour" to want to nibble young Reggie’s toes.
She joked: "Sometimes I just get his toes out for no reason and nibble them.
Is this normal behaviour?"
Her co-star Jennifer Metcalfe (Mercedes McQueen) wrote: "100 percent normal .. new normal! (sic)"
Last week, Nadine revealed she "cried all the way home" as he left hospital with her newborn baby, and wouldn’t let Rory – who plays Joel Dexter in the soap – drive faster than 5mph.
She wrote on Instagram: "We’ve Left! I cried all the way home and made Rory drive 5mph
What a terrifying moment being left responsible with the most precious thing ever! Feeling very teary and told nearly everyone in the hospital they were an angel. (Not the drugs talking)
Thank you all for your gorgeous messages!
P.s Yorkshire anthems will not be withheld from this child! (sic)"
Nadine praised the NHS staff who looked after her during and after her birth as "angels", as she revealed to fans she had given birth.
She wrote: "Reggie Speed. You’re the coolest little dude we never knew we were missing in our lives! We love you so Much.
Also Thank you to every incredible NHS worker we’ve come across at the womens. (Helen,Jordine,Amy,Amy) You’re all walking angels. Thank you so much for making one of the biggest moments of our lives so extra special with care. (sic)"
