Roger Waters gives his blessing to Blurred Vision

Blurred Vision’s cover of ‘Another Brick in the Wall’ is "theirs", says Roger Waters.

The prog rock group – consisting of brothers Sepp and Sohl Osley and drummer Ben Riley – reworked the Pink Floyd classic hit which features on the band’s 1979 rock-opera album ‘The Wall’, but hadn’t yet asked permission from the band and weren’t expecting the legendary bass player to give them his blessing to cover it.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, vocalist Sepp revealed: "We went into the studio and met our producer Terry Brown – the legend himself – who took us under his wing and we started recording our own version of Pink Floyd’s ‘Another Brick in the Wall’.

"We sent it over to Roger Waters’ camp because we didn’t want to do anything without his permission. We had a gut feeling this was going to be huge and we didn’t want to do anything until we got his blessing because he’s our biggest hero. He not only gave us his blessing, but he said, ‘From here on in this song is yours. Nobody needs to come to me any more, you own this rendition of ‘Another Brick in the Wall’."

And Sepp thinks it was the moment that made his career, who he now counts as his "hero".

He continued: "In an essence our careers wouldn’t have happened without Roger. Our hero that we grew up with turns out to be the one responsible for launching our career."

Meanwhile, the band also released a song and music video as a tribute to late Beatles star John Lennon with proceeds going to the WhyHunger charity – which the band are ambassadors for.
