Robbie Williams on the Oasis reunion tour: ‘It will be nostalgia on steroids’

Robbie Williams says the upcoming Oasis reunion tour will be “nostalgia on steroids”.

The ‘Angels’ hitmaker was once locked in one of music’s most infamous feuds with brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, with the latter once branding Robbie the “fat dancer from Take That”.

However, he has always adored the Britpop legends’ music, and he hopes the ‘Oasis Live ’25 Tour’ will prove “healing” for the formerly estranged siblings, who have put their differences aside to hit the road this year for their first gigs in 16 years.

Speaking to The Mirror, Robbie said of frontman Liam: “Liam’s voice is peerless. And he was and is the voice of a generation. So I think that for British people – and Manchester – it will be a very important moment.”

Referring to their lengthy feud, which led to the demise of the ‘Live Forever’ group following a backstage bust-up between the pair at their final concert in 2009, Robbie said: “Hopefully it’ll be healing for the lads too.”

Robbie, who is touring at the same time as Oasis, continued: “Entertainment, at its best, is liberation. And what I want to do with my gigs is take people on the journey and make them forget about their own lives for a bit. And the great thing about the Oasis reunion is they will facilitate that for people.

“But not only that, it will be nostalgia on steroids, and remind us who we were, what we were, how we felt and what we wanted.”

Praising songwriter and guitarist’s Noel’s lyrical genius, he added: “I was just looking at those songs, especially the first three years’ worth of songs, and it’s literally a lifetime and decade’s worth of bangers created over that three-year period. The songwriting is sensational.”

The ‘Oasis Live ’25 Tour’ kicks off on July 4 in Cardiff. Robbie’s tour kicks off on May 31 in Edinburgh.
