Robbie Williams’ dad is his "hero".
The 40-year-old star – who was catapulted to the spotlight in 90s boy band Take That alongside Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen – insists his "charismatic" club singer father Peter Williams is a talented artist, but never got the same lucky break he did when he was younger.
Speaking on Australia’s ‘Today’ show, he said: "My dad is incredibly charismatic and charming and a very good singer, he just didn’t get the lucky break I got.
"When I was growing up he was my hero in many ways and the inspiration for the act that I do."
Robbie also gushed about being a father to 17-month-old daughter Theodora ‘Teddy’ Rose, and insists she is everything he needs.
He said:"I have all the love in the world now when I look at her [Teddy]."
And the ‘Candy’ hitmaker admitted his actress wife Ayda Field – who he married in August 2010 after four years together – has changed his life.
He said: "Life became gentler, easier and more beautiful after meeting her."
