Robbie Williams’ Icon Award fears

Robbie Williams fears he doesn’t "deserve" the BRITs Icon Award.
The ‘Party Like a Russian’ singer – whose 17 past BRIT wins make him the most awarded artist in the history of the ceremony – will pick up the special statuette in recognition of his incredible career at a special event later this month, but he’s concerned his "low self-esteem issues" will prevent him from enjoying the occasion.
He said: "It is an honour but what happens is like a mirror going to me, ‘You don’t deserve this’. I will try my best to enjoy the evening but you know I’m a cracked person with low self-esteem issues."
Meanwhile, the 42-year-old pop star – who has children Teddy, four, and Charlton, two, with wife Ayda Field – admitted his spouse isn’t impressed with all the tracks on his latest album ‘Heavy Entertainment Show’.
Speaking on ‘MTV Asks Robbie Williams’, he said: "I was in the bath with my wife and we were playing the album and the first five songs were like ‘yep, yep’. Then I played one that was written about her . . . and at the end she went, ‘meh, not that one’." Robbie is only the third recipient of the Icon Award, following in the footsteps of Sir Elton John and the late David Bowie.
The accolade is presented to artists whose work has set them apart as having made a "lasting impact" on the nation’s culture.
And the ‘Angels’ hitmaker previously admitted he is "humbled" to have been honoured with the prize.
He said: "The BRIT Awards are very special to me and I’m humbled to be receiving the 18th of my career."
Robbie will receive the Icon Award at a special concert in London on November 8, while the main BRIT Awards ceremony will take place on 22 February 2017 at The O2.
