RM: BTS are working diligently on new album

BTS star RM says that the band are “working diligently” on new music.

The K-pop stars announced their hotly anticipated comeback last month and RM has discussed the process of returning to the studio in Los Angeles now he has completed his mandatory military service in South Korea.

In a message to fans shared on the platform Weverse, the 30-year-old star wrote: “It’s already been a little over two months since I was discharged from the military.

“I’m from faraway Los Angeles. I live, work, and play with the members. It’s a really strange experience. It feels ‘Bon Voyage Pyeongchang.’ It’s weird already, right… Anyway, I feel like I’m working diligently somewhere.”

RM has promised to “commit” himself to the making of the new record with bandmates Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook.

He said: “Making something ‘together’ with these friends, I’m going to commit myself to this moment. I’m going to thank you. It’s our next album.

“I’m looking for what I’ll become. Something I’ve forgotten for too long, the moments that are far away together. I hope that it will be a kind of beauty.”

In a concluding message to fans, RM added: “I miss you. It’s a long time… I guarantee you, I’ll be there soon. I’ll do my best until then. I love you.”

BTS confirmed their return last month as they announced plans for a new album and world tour.

The Dynamite group said: “We’re also planning a world tour alongside the album. We’ll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope you’re as excited as we are.”

The new album will mark the band’s first record release since 2020 and the tour will see BTS hit the road for the first time since the Permission to Dance on Stage gigs in 2022.

The BTS members were forced to put their careers on hold in 2022 as 18 months of military service is compulsory for all men in South Korea.

BTS told their fans, known as the ARMY, on Weverse: “Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music.

“Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member’s thoughts and ideas. We’re approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started.”
