Rita Ora wasn’t sure she was ready for the "pressure" of being a coach on ‘The Voice’.
The ‘How We Do’ hitmaker has joined the judging panel of the BBC One singing competition for it’s upcoming fourth series but admits she sought the advice of veteran coach will.i.am before signing up.
Speaking at the series launch at the Mondrian London hotel she told BANG Showbiz: "When I first got asked to do it I had to speak to will about it because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to take that pressure on and be responsible but then I found my balls and said to myself, ‘You know what? Just go for it’."
The 24-year-old star – who will also go up against Sir Tom Jones and Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson on the show – claims one of the main reasons she accepted the offer was to help other artists achieve their dreams.
She explained: "If I can find it inside myself to help somebody then I want that. I want to do that because somebody did that for me. Being 24 and in this industry, it’s nice to have an insight from somebody my age, especially with all the female singers that come on the show and even the male singers."
The blonde beauty added: "It’s just good to have somebody from all aspects of the spectrum giving you advice."
‘The Voice’ kicks off on Saturday January 10 at 7pm on BBC One.
