Rita Ora signs deal with Atlantic Records

Rita Ora has signed a worldwide deal with Atlantic Records UK.
Following her departure from Roc Nation in the wake of her lawsuit settlement with former label Roc Nation – owned by Jay Z – she has been snapped up by Atlantic and she is thrilled to have a new supportive team to help her make her second studio album.
Posting a photo on Instagram of herself with her new "family", Rita wrote: "I’m thankful to my new Atlantic Records family for all their support and encouragement. The next chapter is going to be incredible."
And Atlantic are equally as excited to have the ‘Coming Home’ hitmaker as part of their stable of artists, which include Ed Sheeran, Rudimental and Plan B.
Atlantic Records UK President Ben Cook said of the signing: "First and foremost she’s a great singer who’s hugely passionate about music and I’m delighted to welcome her to Atlantic Records. We look forward to getting in the studio with her and making an incredible album."
Her manager Sarah Stennett, of First Access Management, said of the new partnership: "I have worked with Rita since she was 17. She has always been a great entertainer with an electric personality; singing is at the heart of everything she does. I am thrilled that Rita has Atlantic Records as her global record label in this next phase of her career."
The signing comes after a long dispute with her former label which saw Rita filing a lawsuit against Roc Nation last December requesting to be released from her contract.
The label filled a counter lawsuit seeking to force the star to return $2.4 million for breaching the terms of her contract and not providing the four albums she was required to release under the terms.
Rita and Roc Nation finally separated in June this year after a settlement was reached.
Rita intends to have her new LP out this year, the follow-up to her self-titled 2012 debut.
