Richard Ashcroft announces 2019 headline tour

Richard Ashcroft will play the London Olympia next year as part of a tour across the UK and Ireland.
The Verve singer has announced details of a huge headline run in April and May 2019, which will culminate with the first concert at the historic venue since Primal Scream hit the stage in 2010.
The tour will kick off on April 19 at the Guildhall in Portsmouth before moving on to dates in Cardiff, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Dublin, Doncaster and Leicester before the final performance in London.
Fans who pre-order Richard’s upcoming album ‘Natural Rebel’ – released on October 19 – will get access to an exclusive pre-sale from October 10 at 9.30am, and general sale will be available two days later.
The newly announced dates will follow a sold out intimate run on the road this month at venues in Glasgow, Middlesborough Nottingham, Manchester and Kentish Town.
To mark the announcement on Friday (05.10.18), the star unveiled new acoustic single ‘Hey Columbo’, and joked it isn’t one for the whole family.
He said: "Warning: This song contains explicit language. Do not play on the school run, but turn it up on the way home."
The exciting news comes after Richard hailed music as "the most powerful art form in the world".
He recently said: "This is why music is still the most powerful art form in the world. It’s something that unifies us, it’s not something that polarizes us.
"And right now, that’s what these gigs – great concerts, great artists – that’s all we’ve got really, because everything else just seems to separate us. Music’s really powerful right now, and really important more than ever. I’m excited to be part of it."
