Redmond O’Neal charged with attempted murder

Redmond O’Neal has been charged with attempted murder.
The 33-year-old son of Ryan O’Neal and the late actress Farrah Fawcett is currently in jail after going on a crime spree last month and he has now been charged with one count of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of criminal threats, one count of brandishing a knife and one count of battery.
The Los Angeles Police Department told PEOPLE that Redmond allegedly "randomly attacked five men in unprovoked confrontations" over a period of six days in May, starting on May 2nd and ending on the 8th when he was arrested for reportedly robbing a 7-Eleven store in Venice, California.
On May 2, he allegedly punched a man before trying to stab him with a broken bottle and followed this up by punching another man.
On May 4, it has been claimed that Redmond stabbed two men within hours of each Speaking about the first victim, police said: "Initially, the victim thought that the suspect had merely ‘punched’ him in the back. However, once paramedics arrived, the paramedics discovered that the victim had sustained a serious stab wound to the left side of his body."
On the final day of Redmond’s alleged crime spree, he reportedly attempted to stab a coffee shop employee with a knife, before he is said to have robbed a store at knife point.
He had previously pled not guilty to the charges related to attempted robbery but has yet to enter a plea for the new charges, including attempted murder.
Redmond has struggled with substance abuse issues for many years, with his half-sister Tatum O’Neal saying in 2015 that "he’s got addiction problems so bad that it breaks my heart."
He was arrested in 2011 for possession of heroin and possession of a gun by a felon, following a previous DUI and drugs charge in 2008. In 2015, he was sentenced to three years in prison for violating his parole, but was released before the end of his sentence.
