Rag’n’Bone Man worried he’d miss son’s birth

Rag’n’Bone Man was terrified he would miss the birth of his son.
The ‘Human’ hitmaker – whose real name is Rory Graham – and his partner Beth Rouy welcomed son Reuben into the world in September and the singer had a "nerve-wracking" few weeks as he was touring in America in the weeks before the baby was due, and then had to wait around for longer once he returned to the UK.
He said: "The only time I took off [this year] was two weeks and that was to have a baby.
"It was f***ing nerve-wracking, for the start.
"I was in America and my missus was due at the time, so I was like, ‘If I don’t get back, she’s gonna have this baby without me’ and that put the fear of God into me."
Then when I got back it was just another waiting game – like, ‘When’s it gonna happen?’ "
But the ‘Skin’ singer also enjoyed a "beautiful" period bonding with Beth and Reuben before he had to return to work.
He added in an interview with Q magazine: "It was all sorts of emotions, and we were both knackered, but it was also a beautiful time.
"I held my son for the first time and we got to be a family for a little while – before anyone annoyed me."
The 32-year-old singer thinks he now has to publicly praise his little boy, just in case the youngster grows up to read his old interviews.
Asked the highlight of his year so far, he said: "Apart from having my little boy, which is obviously gonna go down in history as one of the most important things ever – I say that because he’s probably gonna know about this in years to come – yeah, you little s**t!
"Apart from that, it’s the feeling that I’m gonna be able to do this for a few years, like it isn’t just a flash in the pan."
