Rachel Wiesz is in talks to star in ‘Idol’s Eyes’.
The Oscar-winning actress is in negotiations to join Robert Pattinson and Robert De Niro in the heist action-thriller which is set to start production in Chicago and Toronto in October this year, reports Variety.
The picture will be directed by Olivier Assayas and is based on a 2007 Playboy article called ‘Boosting The Big Tuna’ by Hillel Levin which follows a group of thieves who accidentally rob a Chicago mafia boss.
Benaroya Pictures will finance and produce the film with International Film Trust, which was co-founded by Benaroya, handling foreign sales of the movie.
Assayas’ latest film ‘Clouds Of Sils Maria’ premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last week, starring Pattinson’s ex-girlfriend and former co-star Kristen Stewart, along with Juliette Binoche and Chloe Moretz.
Pattinson’s ‘Queen of the Deserts’ was also shown at the annual festival in France, in which he stars as a British army Colonel T.E Lawrence with Nicole Kidman and James Franco.
Meanwhile, Weisz, 44 – who won the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for her performance in the ‘Constant Gardener’ (2005) – recently starred with Franco in the action adventure ‘Oz The Great and Powerful’ (2013).
