Rachel Riley says parenthood is "scary and exciting all at the same time".
The ‘Countdown’ star and her husband Pasha Kovalev – who tied the knot in June earlier this year – are expecting their first child together before Christmas, and the loved up couple can’t wait to meet their baby boy or girl.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: "Pasha and I are honestly really excited. It’s scary and exciting all at the same time. Our parents are over the moon and so are our friends. I’ve got babies coming out of my ears at the moment, three of my best friends are pregnant. So I’ve got good, sensible friends who I trust to talk things through with and get advice."
The 33-year-old star also admitted she and Pasha – who started dating after meeting on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ when he was her professional partner in 2013 – might struggle with the idea of being strict parents.
She laughed: "I don’t think either of us will be a disciplinarian. I think we might have a shock in store when the little one’s drawing with crayons all over the wall. It’s quite possible our little one is going to have both of us wrapped around their little finger!"
Meanwhile, Rachel confessed her appearance on W’s new TV show ‘Famous Babysitter’ has acted as a test run for parenthood as she was looking after another family’s children just weeks after finding out she was pregnant.
She shared: "It’s crazy how the universe has plans for you. At the end of last year I was thinking about a family and I guess this show is the only way you can try before you buy with kids!"
