Queens of the Stone Age raise over $20K at charity gig

Queens of the Stone Age raised over $20,000 for Australia’s Royal Hobart Hospital’s Paediatric Ward.
Josh Homme and co played a special one-off charity show at Hobart’s MONA (Museum of Old and New Art) in Tasmania last week, with profits going to the children’s facility.
On why he decided to play the intimate gig, Josh – who has Camille, 12, Orrin, seven, and two-month-old Wolf with his Distillers rocker wife Brody Dalle-Homme – said: "I sit with [wife] Brody [Dalle]’s Mum and enjoy the wild, utterly Australian beauty.
"I think MONA is a perfect example of Tassie [Tasmanian] individuality, so playing there is an honour."
The heavy rock band also paid a visit to the hospital with Brody and her mom to meet the youngsters receiving life-saving treatment and to give them gifts, it was later revealed.
A statement by Frontier Touring posted on Facebook, read: "The day after the show, the band made a special visit to the hospital – dropping off presents, and presenting monies to staff, and showing their support for a city close to the band’s heart.
"Josh Homme even took along his mother-in-law, mum of rocker and wife Brody Dalle-Homme."
The gig at MONA was filmed, but it’s not known if the footage will be published by the band.
The ‘Domesticated Animals’ rockers are just wrapping up their 12-month tour in support of their chart-topping album ‘Villains’.
