Queen Elizabeth to honour young people

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Harry are set to honour inspirational young people on Thursday (23.06.16).
The 90-year-old monarch will be joined by her grandson, football ace David Beckham, Sir Lenny Henry and Sir John Major as they dish out 60 medals to youngsters from the across the Commonwealth in recognition of their work during a special ceremony at Buckingham Palace in London.
The winners – all aged between 18 and 29 – are being praised on their life-changing work in the education sector, climate change, gender equality, mental health and improving the lives of those people with disabilities.
Before picking up the prize, the winners will visit 10 Downing Street – the headquarters of Her Majesty’s Government – as well as pay a visit to the UK headquarters of Twitter.
But that’s not all as the winners will also get to meet the Commonwealth Secretary General, take part in workshops at the University of Cambridge and have meetings with UK business leaders, according to Prothom Alo Online.
Among those to receive a medal is Osama Bin Noor, 25, from Bangladesh after being recognised for taking the lead in transforming the lives of others and making a difference.
Osama – who co-founded Youth Opportunities, an online platform advertising scholarships, internships and conferences – said: "I’m so happy to be a recipient of The Queen’s Young Leaders Award."
