Queen Elizabeth brands Manchester attack as ‘wicked’

Queen Elizabeth has branded the Manchester terror attack as "wicked".
The 91-year-old royal visited the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital on Thursday (25.05.17) to meet with some of the survivors of the tragic events that took place after an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena earlier this week, when 22 people were killed and over 50 were injured after a suspected nail bomb was detonated by a suicide bomber.
Whilst at the hospital, the monarch dubbed the tragedy as "dreadful" as she met with some of the 12 victims who were under the age of 16.
She told 14-year-old Evie Mills and her parents: "It’s dreadful. Very wicked. To target that sort of thing."
And after exchanging words with the teenager, the Queen asked: "So you’d come especially for the concert had you?"
Evie then told the royal that she’d been gifted tickets to the show for her birthday, to which the Queen responded: "Oh, was it? Would you say you enjoy it? The singer sounds very very good."
It isn’t the first time the royal has addressed the horrific attack, as earlier this week she released a formal statement where she expressed her "deepest sympathy" to those who were involved.
The statement read: "The whole nation has been shocked by the death and injury in Manchester last night of so many people, adults and children, who had just been enjoying a concert.
"I know I speak for everyone in expressing my deepest sympathy to all who have been affected by this dreadful event and especially to the families and friends of those who have died or were injured.
"I want to thank all the members of the emergency services, who have responded with such professionalism and care. And I would like to express my admiration for the way the people of Manchester have responded, with humanity and compassion, to this act of barbarity."
