Prue Leith’s dog bit her neighbour’s chicken

Prue Leith’s dog attacked one of her neighbour’s chickens.
‘The Great British Bake Off’ judge admitted that the incident happened when she took her two pet pooches for a walk during her allotted one-hour-a-day exercise during lockdown and a chicken crossed the road and came towards them.
Prue was quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "I’ve got two cavalier spaniels. The dogs have never been so well walked in their lives!
"At first it was quite funny because I had them on the lead and they couldn’t catch (the hen) and I was trying to reel them in.
"But the stupid chicken ran towards me and, of course, one of the dogs pulled an enormous amount of feathers out of it."
The 80-year-old chef revealed that luckily the chicken survived the "awful" incident but Prue has got some explaining to do to its owner.
She said: "It was awful. It did get away but I have got to ring up the farmer and tell him that my dog savaged his chicken."
Prue recently discussed how she has developed a "thick skin" since joining ‘The Great British Bake Off’ in 2017, especially after receiving nasty messages on Twitter after she prematurely revealed that Sophie Faldo had won that year’s series.
She said: "I did not realise how much of a national treasure it was until I inadvertently tweeted the winner on my first year which was absolutely terrible. I had thousands of people saying, ‘You have ruined my life. I feel suicidal.’
"Of course you want to react and come back and say this is not true but you cannot go back as every single tweet you put in fuels more people to go back in and crucify you. You have to develop a very thick skin."
