Princess Diana wanted a daughter

Princess Diana always wanted to have a daughter.
The late mother to Prince William and Prince Harry, who tragically died in 1997 in a car crash in a Paris tunnel aged 36, longed to have a "little girl" to add to her family and would have been a fantastic grandmother to William’s children, 12-month-old Princess Charlotte and Prince George, two, had she lived.
The family’s personal chef, Darren McGrady, commented: "The princess always wanted a little girl. She would have been there every day just hugging and holding Charlotte. She would be spoiling them crazy. She was a natural with children. They could have had desserts and candy and anything they wanted. She would have been the best grandmother I think anyone could have."
McGrady says Princess Diana – who was married to the heir to the throne Prince Charles before they divorced in 1996 – held his own daughter when she was born and he’ll never forget how kind she was to him and his wife, who also worked in the kitchens.
He told ABC: "She was incredible. She was always interested in what was going on behind those doors in the kitchen, what was my wife up to. When my daughter was born, she sent flowers to the hospital. She held her. [She] always remembered birthdays."
