Princess Charlotte makes balcony debut

Britain’s Princess Charlotte made her Buckingham Palace balcony debut at the weekend.
The 13-month-old daughter of Prince WIlliam and Duchess Catherine is largely kept out of the public eye by her parents but she, along with her two-year-old brother Prince George, joined senior members of the royal family to watch the RAF flypast after Trooping the Colour on Saturday (11.06.16).
The tot covered her ears to shield herself from the noise, and seemed to be teething as she was frequently seen chewing on a finger as she gathered with her relatives to mark her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth’s official 90th birthday.
While Charlotte seemed unimpressed by the occasion, George – who donned blue shorts and a white shirt with blue lining, which his father previously wore to his brother Prince Harry’s christening in 1984 – had a great time.
Speaking to a well-wisher as she greeted the crowds on The Mall at the Patron’s Lunch on Sunday (12.06.16), Catherine said: "I’ve honestly never seen him so excited. His face lit up."
The Patron’s Lunch – which saw 10,000 people gather for a street party on The Mall – was dampened by wet weather, something George had been unimpressed by.
Reveller Ella Hunter-Gibbs told Britain’s HELLO! magazine of her encounter with Catherine: "I’m so excited right now, we were talking about how it has finally stopped raining.
"She was saying that George opened the door today and said, ‘It’s not very nice out today mummy, is it?’ She said ‘No, it isn’t George.’ "
William also spoke to the crowds and joked about his receding hairline.
After one woman apologised for her bedraggled, soggy locks, he said: "It still looks lovely. You’ve got more hair than I have."
