Princess Anne to open Scotland Boat Show 2016

Princess Anne is to open Scotland’s Boat Show.
The 66-year-old royal will visit Kip Marina, Inverkip for the annual event’s 30th-anniversary celebrations on Friday (14.10.16) where she will unveil a plaque and be given a tour of the 120 boats on display.
The exhibition’s organiser Holt Leisure and Kip Marina MD, Gavin McDonagh said: "We are absolutely delighted to be welcoming Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal. This is an excellent reward for the staff as they put such an effort into making the boat show such a success.
"It is great recognition for the show and the fact that we have grown it from a small, second-hand boat show to the largest of its kind in Scotland, attracting visitors from all over the UK."
The free event will open to the public at 10am on Friday (14.10.16) and will run until Sunday (16.10.16).
It comes just over a month after the Princess Royal became sick and was signed off work with a chest infection.
However, two weeks later she made her first royal engagement in Bunn Fertiliser in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, south east England, ahead of the company’s 200th anniversary this year.
Anne was seen discussing fertilisers with some of Bunn’s employees.
Fears grew for Anne after it was revealed she had been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in Scotland on September 7 and cancelled all of her upcoming engagements because she was "feeling unwell".
It was later confirmed Anne had been battling a bad chest infection and advised by doctors to take some time off from her duties.
The royal was expected to visit HM Prison Grampian in Peterhead the day after but postponed the trip.
She has had a jam-packed schedule this summer after returning from the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, where she went to check out the team’s training grounds in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
Anne was introduced to the Team Great Britain athletes including marathon swimmer Kerri-Anne Payne, as well as Brazilian athletes.
The mother of two – who has daughter Zara, 35, and son Peter, 38, with her former husband Mark Phillips – continued her tour and visited the Federal University of Minas Gerias, the site of the athletics and swimming training areas.
