Princess Anne opens new sea cadet unit in Scotland

Princess Anne opened the refurbished headquarters of a sea cadet unit on Wednesday (24.05.17).
The 66-year-old royal visited Peterhead in Scotland yesterday to meet with those who are part of the organisation and to declare the unit’s new establishment officially open.
Anne – who is the daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and her husband the Duke of Edinburgh – arrived at the TS Caledonia hall early afternoon where she was greeted by a group of over 50 local residents, as well as the cadets, who were desperate to see her.
According to Press and Journal Online Anne was given a special tour of the newly renovated site and was able to meet and greet trainees and adult volunteers throughout the day.
The Princess Royal was also given the opportunity to unveil a plaque during her recent trip, which was to commemorate the official opening.
And after the big unveil Anne was gifted a bouquet of flowers by the Leading Junior Cadet named Alexander Watt.
The unit were "honoured" Anne visited them and made their launch day so memorable.
The officer in charge of TS Caledonia Sub Lt (SCC), Marleen Mowatt RNR, said: "We are extremely honoured to have received a visit from the Princess Royal to officially reopen our unit.
"It has been fantastic to see this ambitious project to re-roof the building come to fruition.
"The success of TS Caledonia is down to the commitment and dedication of an amazing team of volunteers who work together to deliver the cadet experience to the youth of Peterhead."
