Princess Alexandra cancels public appearance after injuring her wrist

Queen Elizabeth’s cousin Princess Alexandra has cancelled a public appearance after she injured her wrist.
The 80-year-old royal, who is also known as The Honourable Lady Ogilvy, was forced to pull out of attending an event where she was set to open the Bay Gateway in Lancaster, England, because she reportedly broke her limb after she fell over.
However, the Royal Lady of the Garter, is rumoured to be on the mend and is felling "well" following the incident.
Speaking about Alexandra and her welfare to the Express Online, a source said: "Princess Alexandra is feeling well and is hopeful of a swift recovery."
The Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire, named Lord Shuttleworth, is set to replace Alexandra and will open the connecting area in Heysham to the M6 instead.
During the event Lord Shuttleworth is also believed to unveil a plaque, which is being put up to mark the event.
And the Westmorland Gazette has reported refreshments and snacks will follow the official opening launch and will take place at Lancaster and Morecambe College.
Sadly, this is not the first time Alexandra has had to cancel an appearance, as in 2013 she was diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR), which is a condition when the muscles are inflamed, and was left in agonising pain throughout her body and was unable to commit to attending her arranged engagement.
Speaking at the time, a statement released by Buckingham Palace stated: "Unfortunately, Princess Alexandra has been forced to cancel some engagements due to a broken wrist."
