Prince William’s football glee

Prince William is thrilled England won’t have to play Portugal in the UEFA European Championship – because he was worried captain Cristiano Ronaldo would "come into form."
The 34-year-old royal – who has been the President of the Football Association (FA) for the past 10 years – was concerned his national team would have to battle it out on the pitch with the football legend and his teammates but can now breathe a sigh of relief knowing they’re playing Iceland.
Speaking to French chef Claude Bosi at a charity dinner in Norfolk on Wednesday (22.06.16), the prince said: "We’re playing Iceland now on Monday. We’re quite happy about that because we didn’t want Ronaldo coming into form."
The hunk was left disappointed earlier this week when he watched England draw 0-0 against Slovakia in Saint Etienne, France, despite numerous attempts to score.
Meanwhile, just before the tournament kicked off on June 10, William sent the England team a video in which he said the whole "nation is behind" them throughout the games.
Addressing the manager Roy Hodgson, William said: "Roy, I want to wish you, your staff and the England squad all the very best for the European Championship final in France.
"I know that you have done everything possible to prepare in the right way… rest assured everyone back home will be cheering England on whenever you play.
"We’re all looking forward to watching some great football over the coming weeks. An exciting performance from this team will inspire the next generation of England players… good luck to you all."
