Prince William meets young app developer

Britain’s Prince William has congratulated a schoolboy who created an anti-bullying app.

The heir apparent visited a school in London on Monday (21.09.15) where he met teenagers from around the country and took anti-bullying classes, and met 15-year-old creator of SABA app Nick Oxley.

The 33-year-old prince "loved" the app and Nick was thrilled to meet him.

Speaking about the experience, Nick said: "I gave him a pack about the app to go away with and I also got a picture with him.

"My mum is going to be really jealous. He loved the idea and he even spoke about coming to visit my school."

Despite the Duke of Cambridge being one of the most popular royals, Nick confessed that he didn’t have a clue what he looked like.

He said: "It was quite an educational experience as I didn’t even know what Prince William looked like until today."

The teen created the app with his friends Alex Stephens, Ray Grice and Lewis Smith.

It won a mini Dragons’ Den competition and is now due to go live in November to coincide with Anti-Bullying Week.

Peter Fairclough, who teaches computing at Nick’s school in Langham, Langham Oaks, told the Daily Gazette: "This just shows the high aspirations we have for the boys. They are able to interact with real businesses.

"They are working at such a high level and are so determined."
