Prince William meets ambassadors with Queen

Prince William joined Queen Elizabeth to meet several ambassadors on Wednesday (18.03.15).

The 32-year-old British royal joined his grandmother at Buckingham Palace in London as she met with the guests from around the world in order to observe her responsibilities and the protocol first hand.

Among the visitors were the Ambassador of the Republic of Nicaragua, Her Excellency Ms. Guisell Morales-Echaverry, and the Ambassador of Austria, His Excellency Dr. Martin Eichtinger.

Although William – who is second-in-line to succeed his grandmother after his father Prince Charles – mainly stood in the background he did step forward to shake Dr. Eichtinger’s hand.

The Palace insists William’s appearance is not an indication he will be taking other this duty from her 88-year-old grandmother.

However, it is perceived to be further proof that the queen wants to prepare her son and grandson for all her duties for when she no longer sits on the throne.

William is currently awaiting the birth of his second child with his wife Duchess Catherine. The couple already have 19-month-old son Prince George together.
