Prince William for Foreign Office job

Britain’s Prince William could be set to work for the Foreign Office.

Royal aides have revealed the Duke of Cambridge, who quit his job as a Search and Rescue helicopter pilot last year, wants to prepare for his future role of King by getting a grounding in diplomacy.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "He will come to the end of his ‘transitional year’ in the autumn and has made it clear he wishes to begin full-time work again.

"A post at the heart of the Foreign Office would give an insight into the role of an ambassador and an understanding of relations between countries around the world."

Although the 31-year-old royal has reportedly ruled out being an ambassador himself as he doesn’t want to be away from his wife, Duchess Catherine, and their eight-month-old son George.

The Prince, who is also about to complete a 10-week agricultural course at Cambridge University as he prepares himself for taking over the Duchy of Cornwall estate, could take the job after his official royal visit to Australia and New Zealand next month with Catherine and George.
