Britain’s Prince William and Duchess Catherine arrived in the Maldives this morning (06.03.14) for a romantic getaway.
The royal couple are thought to have landed on a British Airways plane at 9.40am local time and will be staying at a newly-opened private resort, according to local media.
It’s not known if their seven-month-old son, Prince George, has accompanied them on the trip.
The holiday marks some much-needed alone time for the couple before they embark on a 19-day royal visit to Australia and New Zealand next month.
William, 31, has also been completing a 10-week intensive course in agricultural management at Cambridge University, so the holiday is a chance for the couple to relax.
The prince – who is embarking on the course in order to prepare himself for taking over the Duchy of Cornwall estate – doesn’t have any classes this week, sources tell the Daily Express newspaper, and the course is set to conclude at the end of the month.
Catherine, 32, enjoyed a holiday with her family and young George in Mustique at the end of January to mark her mother Carole Middleton’s 59th birthday.
