Prince Harry snubs Wimbledon for British Grand Prix

Britain’s Prince Harry snubbed Wimbledon in favour of the British Grand Prix yesterday (06.07.14).

The flame-haired royal left his brother and sister-in-law, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, to enjoy the men’s final action between tennis stars Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer in South West London yesterday (06.07.14) while he headed to Northamptonshire to take in the Formula 1 racing.

The 29-year-old Prince arrived at the race track in a navy blue suit and was seen chatting with legendary former driver Sir Jackie Stewart before the racers made their way to the starting line.

Harry also mingled with celebrities including Hollywood actors Jude Law and Michael Fassbender, cricketer Stuart Broad, Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake and former athlete Lord Sebastian Coe at the sporting event.

F1 star Lewis Hamilton crossed the line in first place – marking his first win in a British Grand Prix since 2008 – while Jenson Button narrowly missed out on third place, crossing the finishing line split-seconds after Australia’s Daniel Ricciardo.

Other stars spotted at Silverstone included English golfer Ian Poulter, supermodel Naomi Campbell, musician Eric Clapton and TV presenter Dermot O’Leary.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Duchess Catherine also rubbed shoulders with celebrities at Wimbledon, as stars such as Victoria and David Beckham, Bradley Cooper and Hugh Jackman were seen in the crowd during the match.
