Prince Harry used his first visit to Copenhagen to highlight the ties between Denmark and Britain.
The 33-year-old royal attended a reception in the Danish capital on Wednesday night (25.10.17) and he took the opportunity to underline the links between the two countries, as Britain prepares to leave the European Union.
In a speech, the British royal explained: "I am delighted to be here on my first visit to Denmark. The warmth of your welcome has been incredible, and I’ve had an inspiring first day in your beautiful city – I can’t quite believe it’s taken me so long to visit.
"This trip is a clear reminder of the shared values and strong alliance the UK has with Denmark. Our two countries have an unbreakable bond which is as strong now as it ever has been."
During his two-day visit – which is designed to improve relations between the countries ahead of Britain’s much-discussed exit from the European Union – the flame-haired royal also chatted to Mai Mercado, Denmark’s Minister for Children and Social Affairs.
The duo discussed how social media has created social problems for young people.
Of their conversation, she said: "He had strong views about that."
Mercado also noted the excitement surrounding Harry’s visit.
She added: "They feel like they know him.
"They have connected with the royal family for many years and they feel very connected to him."
