Prince Harry celebrates WellChild’s 40th anniversary at Buckingham Palace

Prince Harry celebrated the 40th anniversary of WellChild charity with a reception at Buckingham Palace on Monday (12.06.17).
The 32-year-old royal – who is a patron of WellChild charity and has held the position for 10 years – invited supporters of the charity, as well as volunteers, nurses and parents associated to the organisation, which was set up to help care for those in need in the comfort of their own home, to the London site to mark its milestone.
The news of the event was shared on Kensington Palace’s Instagram account with a picture of the flame-haired hunk greeting guests at the bash.
The post shared on the photo-sharing site read: "Prince Harry invited some of the nurses, parents, supporters and volunteers from @wellchild to Buckingham Palace to mark 40 years of the charity. WellChild makes it possible for children with exceptional health needs to be treated at home wherever possible, rather than hospital. (sic)."
During the event Harry – who is currently dating ‘Suits’ actress Meghan Markle – praised the parents who have become professional carers and other caregivers for choosing to care for their children at home, which he believes is "one hell of a decision" to make.
Speaking at the event, he said: "You’ve been able to share your experiences.
"Now you’re professionals at this.
"I imagine it’s one hell of a decision to say I want my children at home."
Harry urged the carers to continue to share their experiences with others to help more people and to encourage more people to get involved with the charity.
He said: "You’ve got to try to share these experiences and help other people."
