Prince George’s nanny knows self-defence

Prince George’s new nanny is trained in self-defence and driving at high speeds.

A new article which offers a detailed insight into the young heir’s first 12 months has claimed Spanish childminder Maria Teresa Turrion Borallo came highly recommended to Prince William and Duchess Catherine because of her incredible set of skills.

Vanity Fair magazine’s Katie Nicholl claims Maria was recommended by a friend and her "credentials include experience in self-defence, high-speed driving, and dealing with paparazzi".

It’s thought the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge decided to hire Maria after their previous nanny Jessie Webb – who raised Prince William as a youngster – decided she wasn’t fit to travel to Australia and New Zealand in April for a gruelling 11-day tour.

Prior to accompanying the royals on their Australian trip, Maria spent a week bonding with George at the home of Catherine’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton in Bucklebury, Berkshire, while his parents were on holiday in the Maldives.

Nicholl also claims that Jessie had a heavy hand in helping form George’s sleeping patterns and the little one’s voracious appetite while breastfeeding often meant he refused to sleep through the night.

It’s only in the last several months that George has begun sleeping through the night since his mother introduced solid foods into his diet.
