Prince Charles to visit Merville Barracks

Prince Charles is to visit the Merville Barracks in Colchester, England, later today (23.06.17).
The 68-year-old royal is poised to meet troops and watch parachute and equipment demonstrations during the day, while he will also witness a parade that is being staged to mark the 40th anniversary since his appointment as Colonel-in-chief of the Parachute Regiment.
During the parade, all four battalions will be represented and the Prince will even give a speech to mark the occasion.
Following that, the British royal will watch a parachute display put on by the Regiment’s Red Devils Freefall Display Team.
The Prince’s visit comes shortly after he met worshippers who were injured when a van was driven at people in Finsbury Park.
The royal met with those affected by the incident near the Muslim Welfare House on Seven Sisters Road and he also passed on Queen Elizabeth’s well wishes.
Prince Charles said: "I did particularly want to bring a message from the Queen on this particular occasion. She has specifically asked me to tell you how shocked she was by what happened, particularly as the victims were worshippers who had been attending Ramadan prayers – and her Majesty’s thoughts and prayers are with you all.
"And if I may say so, I can only but join my particular thoughts and prayers to her Majesty’s on this occasion, and to say that for many years I have taken a great interest in the Muslim community in this country."
