Prince Charles tastes ‘irresistible’ cheese

Prince Charles tried some "irresistible" cheese in Yorkshire on Wednesday (22.03.17).
The 68-year-old royal – who is the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip – couldn’t conceal his delight as he tucked into a range of rich cheeses made by small producers across the UK when he visited The Courtyard – a renovated farmstead.
After trying a chunk of cheese, he said: "This is seriously good."
He then shovelled some more into her mouth and replied: "God, it’s all so irresistible."
The prince took a tour of every business at The Courtyard; including the Dalesbred, the cabinet makers, The Lime Gallery and Buon Vino, which specialises in wines.
However, he was particularly interested in the cakes in The Brasserie as the chefs told him how all of the ingredients are sourced locally and how they make the sweet treats.
Simon Robinson – who renovated The Courtyard in 2010 with his wife Sally Robinson and Mark Hancock – is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: "I think it’s been a fabulous day today. He was so interested in everything and the story of developing the barn. The most impressive part was the interest he showed in every single business."
The prince has been very busy recently as before he stopped in Yorkshire, he was in Lancashire visiting the Clitheroe Food Festival.
Charles was able to sample food and drink including a Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment sausage and Hen Harrier golden ale as part of his tour of the Ribble Valley.
Prince Charles met with local food producers and traders who were showcasing their goods as part of a special promotional event for the festival, which regularly attracts thousands of people from the UK.
