Prince Charles looked ‘slightly plaintive sad’ when he married Princess Diana

The Prince of Wales reportedly had a "slightly plaintive sad look" on his face when he married the late Princess Diana.
The 68-year-old royal has openly admitted to enjoying a fling with Duchess Camilla, and it is believed Prince Charles peered over at his current wife in sadness when he tied the knot to his late wife – who tragically died in 1997 aged 36 – in 1981.
Speaking about Charles and his feelings during his first wedding, which came to an end in 1996, in a biography about Camilla titled ‘The Duchess: The Untold Story’, which has been penned by Penny Junor and has been serialised by the Daily Mail, Junor wrote: "As Charles walked down the aisle, he looked over at Camilla with a slightly plaintive sad look on his face."
And it has been reported the reason Charles looked so glum on his special day was because he realised "reality was kicking in" and he was settling down with Diana.
Junor added: "Their wonderful affair was over, and reality was kicking in."
The author has also claimed Diana and Charles endured a "disastrous" honeymoon after their marital ceremony, which saw them embroiled in numerous arguments that reportedly left Charles on the brink of a mental breakdown.
But a few years after Charles divorced Diana he rekindled his relationship with Camilla – who was married to Andrew Parker Bowles for 22 years before they split in 1995 – which saw them wed in 2005.
