Prince Charles joked with Alex Jones about furniture

Britain’s Prince Charles joked with TV presenter Alex Jones about her leaning on priceless furniture at Dumfries House in Scotland.

‘The One Show’ host and her co-presenter Matt Baker travelled to the stately home for the launch of Sport Relief recently and had tea and biscuits with the 65-year-old royal, who has renovated the property, and joked about leaning on an expensive chair.

Alex told the Daily Express newspaper: "It’s the first time I’ve met the prince and he was absolutely lovely.

"Matt and I took part in a one-mile sponsored run around the estate with some of the local schoolchildren to kick-start the fundraising, and when we arrived at the house he opened the door and ushered us into the next room for tea and biscuits."

Alex, 36, went on: "I was saying, ‘Ooh, I love the colour scheme’, and he was really good fun. He told me, ‘You are leaning on a chair that is worth £2 million!’"

The prince is using the income from visitors at Dumfries House to fund community projects.

Meanwhile, former Royal Ballet star Darcey Bussell recently admitted on ‘The One Show’ that Queen Elizabeth told her she’s not a big fan of ballet after she watched her perform.

Darcey said: "I have to admire her for being honest. She said it was an amazing evening and everything, but she said it was definitely enough ballet in one evening for a whole year."
