Primal Scream set dates for 2025 UK and Ireland tour

Primal Scream are embarking on ‘The Come Ahead Tour’ in spring 2025.

Bobby Gillespie and co will play 14 dates across the UK and Ireland in March and April next year in support of their upcoming 12th studio album of the same name, which lands on November 8.

It marks their first jaunt since 2022’s ‘Screamadelica Live’ run and will see them play venues in Bristol, Southampton, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham, and London.

Alongside news of the tour, which will see the Scottish rockers supported by Fat White Family and Baxter Dury on select dates and more special guests, yet to be announced, they have shared the remix of ‘Love Insurrection’ by UK deep house pioneers Black Science Orchestra.

Frontman Bobby, 63, had feared he wouldn’t release another Primal Scream record, but in 2022, lyrical ideas started pouring out of him and it promises to be his most personal collection to date.

He said in a statement: “I’m very excited about this album in a way that you would be making your first record. If there was an overall theme to Come Ahead it might be one of conflict, whether inner or outer.

“There is also a thread of compassion running through the album. The title is a Glaswegian term. If someone threatens to fight you, you say, ‘come ahead!’ It’s redolent of the indomitable spirit of the Glaswegian, and the album itself shares that aggressive attitude and confidence. They have a word for this up there, gallus. ‘Come Ahead’ is quite a cheeky title too.”

This month saw Primal Scream perform as special guests to Alice Cooper at a series of gigs across the UK.

They will also play a major festival performance at Corona Capital in Mexico City next month.

Tickets for the 2025 tour are on sale from November 1. Fans who pre-order ‘Come Ahead’ from the official artist store will receive access to an exclusive fan pre-sale taking place from 10am on October 30.

The album is released physically on double vinyl and CD with a limited mirrorboard gatefold double silver vinyl available at HMV and indie stores, plus a limited mirrorboard gatefold double red vinyl and an exclusive t-shirt available on the official album store at https://primalscream.lnk.to/StorePR.
