President Trump won’t meet the Queen next year

President Donald Trump will not meet the Queen when he visits Britain next year.
The 71-year-old US leader is set to head across the pond in January in a "scaled-down working trip" but he won’t be staying at Buckingham Palace nor will he cross paths with the monarch this time around, according to the Telegraph newspaper.
Trump is reportedly being lined up to jet to the UK in order to open America’s new embassy in London and are expected to take place as soon as possible.
A source told the publication: "There are plenty of chances to get the President over here. We are opening our new embassy soon."
But, even if the President doesn’t head to London, the US embassy – based near Battersea Power Station – will still open at the beginning of 2018.
However, although he won’t get to meet the 91-year-old royal in January, it’s believed the queen has invited him and his wife Melania Trump to Windsor Castle.
A source said: "Discussions between British officials and Trump’s team are expected to begin soon to ensure that a date can be agreed for June or July next year."
It was also reported last year that Trump had discussed a visit to the UK to see Queen Elizabeth and that his mother was a big fan of the monarch.
An insider said "He’s looking forward to it. He’s a massive Anglophile. He was really, really keen. His late mother, Mary, [who was born in Scotland] loved the Queen. He said, ‘I’m going to meet her, too. I can’t wait to come over to England. My mother would be chuffed to bits when I meet the Queen.’ "
