Pixie Lott believes celebrities who cheat with their ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ partners must lack confidence in their relationship.
The 23-year-old ‘Nasty’ hitmaker – who is starring in the BBC1 dancing competition – thinks the "curse of Strictly" only affects those who lack faith in their other half but admits she does understand how affairs with dance partners could begin.
She told The Sun: "It is very intimate and you are spending a lot of time together. But if you’re confident in your relationship then nothing is going to happen.
"There would have to be something wrong with your relationship in the first place for you to get with your dance partner."
Pixie – who is currently dating 26-year-old model Oliver Cheshire – has insisted her boyfriend has nothing to worry about as she is "not that sort of person".
She added: "He isn’t jealous at all. He’s got no reason to be.
"He met my dance partner Trent [Whiddon] and they got on really well."
The "curse of Strictly" can be traced back all the way to series one, when rumours stated that newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky was the driving force behind her dancing partner, Brendan Cole’s split from his fiancee.
Other contestants including Denise Van Outen, Susanna Reid and Ben Cohen have split from their partners after appearing on the show.
Most recently, it was confirmed that television presenter Rachel Riley has separated from her husband and has started dating her ex-‘Strictly’ partner Pasha Kovalev.
