Pippa Middleton’s wedding dress should be ‘soft and romantic’

Princess Diana’s dressmaker believes Pippa Middleton’s wedding dress should be "soft and romantic".
David Emanuel has admitted he thinks the sister to the Duchess of Cambridge – who was known as Kate Middleton before she married Prince William in 2011 – should wear the "complete opposite" to the royal when she weds her fiancé James Matthews this year.
Speaking about his thoughts on Pippa’s attire for the forthcoming marital ceremony, he said: "As long as it’s the complete opposite of her sister, because she’s a different woman, she’s a different body shape.
"[It should be] soft and romantic [in] metres and metres of soft silk chiffon."
And the 63-year-old fashion designer has admitted he felt Catherine’s wedding gown, which was designed by the creative director of Alexander McQueen Sarah Burton, was "rigid" and "hard" and hopes the brunette beauty will choose to wear something unlike the lace dress her sibling adorned.
He explained: "I think Catherine’s dress was quite rigid and quite hard, so just the complete opposite."
However, regardless of what Pippa decides to wear for the occasion, he thinks the sisters should not be compared to one another when the 32-year-old socialite walks down the aisle.
Speaking to the Express.co.uk, he said: "And you shouldn’t compare brides. You shouldn’t compare women really."
Meanwhile, Victoria Beckham has admitted she would jump at the chance of designing Pippa’s wedding dress.
A source close to the fashion mogul said: "She loves the idea of another royal wedding. Pippa was flattered when Victoria approached her at Catherine’s wedding [in 2012] but she’s thinking about choosing an unknown designer and turning them into a star overnight."
