Pippa Middleton embarrassed by media attention

Pippa Middleton finds fame "embarrassing".

The younger sister of Britain’s Duchess of Cambridge rose to prominence in April 2011 when she wore a figure-flattering bridesmaid dress to Catherine and Prince William’s Royal Wedding held at Westminster Abbey, and now claims no one was more surprised than her when pictures of her pert backside were subsequently splashed across the internet.

She confessed in her first ever televised interview with Today’s Matt Lauer: "It was completely unexpected. You know, I think the plan was not really for it to be a significant dress. Really just to sort of blend in with the train. I suppose it’s flattering."

However, Pippa added the attention was "embarrassing" and definitely "not planned".

Despite her reservations about the dress that transformed her into a worldwide pin-up, the 30-year-old party planner can’t bear to part with the garment.

She said: "It’s actually still in my wardrobe at home. I haven’t worn it since. But I think I’ll just keep it there…I think it’s the sort of thing that I’m sure I’ll bring out if someone wanted to see it or my children one day want to see it. Then I’ll show them."

Pippa is no stranger to the pitfalls of fame and was particularly hurt by the backlash and accusations of cashing on her royal connection that followed the release of her book, ‘Celebrate’.

She admitted: "I have felt publicly bullied a little bit … when I read things that clearly aren’t true … Whichever way someone looks at it, it’s a negative side. It is quite difficult. Because eventually I’m just paving my way and trying to live a life like any 30-year-old."
