Piers Morgan wants to be a Strictly judge

Piers Morgan wants to be a judge on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 52-year-old TV presenter thought it would be a good idea to put himself forward for the panel on the hit BBC dance competition because he’s "opinionated."
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Wednesday (31.01.18), Piers said: "We need characters on television. Opinionated people that wind everybody up. Otherwise what the hell is going to happen to me?
"I might go and be a ‘Strictly’… I’d love to be a ‘Strictly’ judge. Having been a trans-Atlantic judge."
Charlotte Hawkins – who was on the latest series of the ballroom and latin dance competition – was shocked by his suggestion.
She said: "You have to know something about dancing."
To which Piers – who has been a judge on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and ‘America’s Got Talent’ – replied: "’Britain’s Got Talent’ got 20 million viewers when I was a judge on it, and now it gets half of that. ‘America’s Got Talent’ got 25 million viewers for the six years I was on that. I’m a top world class judge."
However, Piers – who now works on ITV – joked that there would be a pay issue after the BBC came under scrutiny for their gender pay gap row.
Piers’ comments come after ‘Strictly’ professional Brendan Cole – who danced with Charlotte last series – was axed by the BBC.
Brendan – who has been on the show since 2004 – announced that the BBC had decided not to renew his contract yesterday (30.01.18) and admitted he was devastated by the news.
Piers also told the nation: "Why don’t we launch a campaign to get Brendan Cole restored on ‘Strictly’?
"The campaign starts now. Bring back Brendan! Hashtag bring back Brendan."
