Piers Morgan ends holiday to avoid new quarantine rules

Piers Morgan made a last-minute dash home from France to avoid the UK’s new quarantine rules.

The ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter has been on holiday in Saint-Tropez, but Piers cut short his break to ensure he returned to the UK before the government implemented a new two-week quarantine rule.

Piers – who has kids Spencer, 27, Stanley, 23, Albert, 19, and Elise, eight – posted an image of himself and two of his sons on Twitter, and captioned the picture: "Quarantine dodgers… #France #LeGreatEscape ⁦ @spencermorgan93 ⁩ ⁦ @Bertie_Morgan11 ⁩(sic)"

Since Piers returned home, the government has confirmed plans to introduce a 14-day isolation requirement for people arriving from France.

Meanwhile, Piers recently announced plans to release a new book about the "war on free speech".

The 55-year-old presenter revealed his upcoming book, ‘Wake Up’, will be released on October 15 in hardback, ebook and an audiobook version.

Piers – who has more than seven million Twitter followers – wrote on the platform: "BREAKING: I’m delighted to announce my new book: ‘WAKE UP – Why the ‘liberal’ war on free speech is even more dangerous than Covid-19.’

"Out on October 15th in hardback, ebook & audiobook read by me. (sic)"

The book is being published by Harper Collins, and is being billed as a "rallying cry" for unity and "freedom of speech".

The synopsis reads: "’Wake Up’ is Piers’ rallying cry for a united future.

"He makes the case that a new type of ‘liberalism’ has emerged that is not only fundamentally illiberal, but also deeply flawed. ‘Wake Up’ is a plea for a return to true liberalism, where freedom of speech is king.

"Above all, it’s a powerful account of how the world has finally started to wake up, and why it mustn’t go back to sleep again."
