Piers Morgan brands Love Island’s Ched and Jess ‘brain dead’

Piers Morgan has branded Love Island’s Jess Gale and Ched Uzor "brain dead zombies".
The 54-year-old TV presenter was left baffled by new Islander Ched’s chat-up techniques on Tuesday night’s show (04.02.20).
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Wednesday (05.02.20), he encouraged the producers to play the clip of the 20-year-old VIP hostess and the 23-year-old scaffolder, explaining: "This is Ched revealing his undying love to Jess in the only language she can understand."
In the clip, the pair are getting to know each other more when Jess asked the hunk: "What was your first impression of me?"
He said: "You’re blonde and like, you know, like, I mean, like, you’re pretty and blonde, like."
To which Jess replied: "Well observed."
Back in the ITV studio, Piers called out the reality stars and declared they "speak this completely idiotic language".
He added: "Even though they are brain dead zombies, I respect them. Some of my best friends are zombies."
Piers’ ‘GMB’ co-host Susanna Reid revealed the controversial host has a soft spot for Lucie Donlan, who took part in the 2019 series.
She said: "You like Lucie Donlan."
Piers recalled how he bumped into the 22-year-old model on the red carpet and she made quite the impression.
He remembered thinking: "I like you, she’s from the west country, and she is a surfer."
But the ‘Life Stories’ presenter previously said Love Island’s Shaughna Phillips’ praising of him was "awks" after she and former Islander Connagh Howard, 27, revealed they only tune into ‘Good Morning Britain’ when Piers is on air.
Taking to Twitter, Piers wrote at the time: "Yesterday, @susannareid100 wrote a column about how much she adores Love Island & how great all the contestants are….
"I never watch it & regularly call all the contestants ‘brain-dead zombies.’
"So last night’s @LoveIsland was…well, I believe the vernacular phrase is ‘awks’."
He quipped: "Treat ’em mean, keep ’em keen. #LoveIsland. (sic)"
