Phillip Schofield wants to star on Eurovision

Phillip Schofield wants to compete for the UK on the ‘Eurovision Song Contest’.
The 56-year-old TV presenter would jump at the chance to participate in the international singing competition, which was staged in Lisbon on Saturday (12.05.18).
During a discussion with this year’s UK entree SuRie about her performance – which was interrupted by a protester – on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, Phillip’s co-host Holly Willoughby asked who could compete for the country in 2019.
Phillip immediately replied: "I might have a crack!"
He made the comment after SuRie discussed her memorable performance in the Portuguese capital, revealing her encounter with protester Dr AC has left her with bruises.
SuRie – whose entry ‘Storm’ came 24th out of 26 entries – said: "There’s a couple of bruises on my arm where he wrestled the mic off me, and on my shoulder where he came in."
SuRie also insisted she wasn’t scared when she saw the protester on the stage, explaining that because the drama happened so suddenly she didn’t have time to react.
The singer recalled: "There wasn’t any time to feel fear, there wasn’t. He was suddenly there, security were on him as quick as he was on me.
"He got the mic, for a few seconds that was out of my hands but the song was still going, the backing vocalists were still singing, the crowd were still chanting."
Despite the drama, SuRie was determined to finish her performance.
She said: "I just turned upstage for a moment but I was still clapping and actually cheering with the crowd. I turned back, saw the mic on the floor and I thought, ‘Well that’s mine, I’ll finish the song.’ "
